About Ecotribal

Our basic mission is...

... to collaborate with indigenous peoples in a way that provides them with an income from sustainable products that support their culture and autonomy as well as territorial and environmental integrity.

Ecotribal has been estabished in 2004 after a long period of gestation, including 28 years travelling and working in South America, accumulating experience in anthropology, sustainable development, teaching, tourism and journalism. This work has led to strong direct links to rainforest communities, particularly in the Peruvian Amazon.

Today, Ecotribal sees its main roles as being to:

  1. Identify appropriate products

  2. Provide strong branding and ensure a share of the market place for tribal producers

  3. Bring these products to the international market place in way which provides tribal producers with both fair basic incomes plus a share of the final profit

To initiate the process, Ecotribal has begun with two main product ranges:

  1. Ecotribal Trading

  2. Ecotribal Tours and Expeditions
